Eagle View begins its House System
Eagle View Elementary House System Overview
Eagle View Elementary proudly uses a House System inspired by the Ron Clark Academy to build a positive, inclusive school culture. Each student and all staff members are placed into one of four houses: Altruismo, Amistad, Isibindi, or Rêveur. These houses each have their own unique crest, hand signal, history, and meaning. Students will participate in school-wide events and celebrations with their house families throughout the year.
The Four Houses:
- Altruismo (Black) - The House of Givers
Altruismo is the house of generosity, where students learn the value of giving and supporting others in their community. - Amistad (Red) - The House of Friendship
Amistad represents kindness, trust, and positive relationships, teaching students the power of connection and compassion. - Isibindi (Green) - The House of Courage
Isibindi embodies bravery, strength, and resilience, encouraging students to face challenges with confidence and determination. - Rêveur (Blue) - The House of Dreamers
Rêveur inspires creativity, imagination, and big dreams in its members, fostering a spirit of curiosity and innovation.
Purpose of the House System
The House System at Eagle View is designed to create a dynamic, supportive school climate where every student feels valued and motivated. By promoting character development, academic excellence, and school spirit, the House System strengthens relationships among students and staff and creates a culture of belonging for all.
Mission and Vision of the House System
Through Eagle View's House System, we aim to instill a sense of belonging, pride, and personal growth in every student. Our vision for the house system is to cultivate a positive, inclusive school community that encourages internal motivation, builds relationships, and fosters school spirit. By embracing the values of the houses, we empower students to become responsible, empathetic, and engaged members of our school and broader community.
Points System (Coming Soon!)
Students will have the opportunity to earn points for their houses through a variety of positive behaviors, accomplishments, and efforts. As we wait for the FCPS to approve the app to manage the points, only a few grade levels are trying out the points system. Points may be earned for:
- Showing kindness and respect to others
- Demonstrating leadership
- Academic achievements and personal growth
- Participating in school events and activities
House Celebrations
Throughout the year, students will participate in special house events and celebrations to build community and celebrate their house's success.
- House Lunches: We would like to allow students to sit with their housemates at lunch on Fridays starting in the second quarter.
- House Shirts: Students are encouraged to wear their house color shirts or Eagle View spirit wear on Fridays to show their house pride.
- Quarterly House Hours: Each quarter, students and staff will come together for a special "House Hour" where they will engage in fun, community-building activities designed to promote teamwork, problem-solving, and house spirit. We plan to move into monthly house meetings as we get in the groove.
House Spirit at Eagle View
The Eagle View House System is more than just a tradition – it’s a way of fostering a community where every student feels connected, celebrated, and empowered to succeed. We are excited to watch our Eagles soar through the power of teamwork, character, and house pride! Ask your child which house they’re in!
