School History

Eagle View Elementary School opened on September 5, 2006. Our school began construction in the spring of 2005 and cost approximately $12.3 million to build.

What's in a Name?

During the design and construction process, Eagle View Elementary School was referred to as West Fairfax Elementary. In March 2006, future Eagle View teachers, administrators, and community members met at Liberty Middle School to suggest names for our building. The name Eagle View was put forward by Aaqib Syed, a rising fifth grader. Attendees voted for Eagle View as their first choice, and Albert Einstein Elementary School, suggested by Aaqib's father Mahmud, as their second choice. The suggested names were put forward to the Fairfax County School Board, which has the final say on the names of school buildings, and at a meeting of the board in April the name Eagle View became official.
