Meet our Kindergarten Team
Ms. Erbes has been a kindergarten teacher at Eagle View since 2015. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Development, concentrating in Child and Adolescent Development. She obtained her masters degree from George Mason University in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Elementary Education. She loves working with kindergarten students and seeing their growth throughout the year. When she is not teaching, Ms. Erbes enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Palencia is a kindergarten IA for Ms. Erbes' class. She has two children and two grandchildren. She is originally from Guatemala and has worked with children for the past 20 years! She is also CDA certified. Her favorite part of teaching is working with Ms. Erbes and the children in our class to make a difference in their lives. Her favorite thing to do is help others!
Ms. Hansen is a Charter Staff Member of Eagle View, opening the school in 2006. In the 12 years that she has been at EVES, Miss Hansen has experience teaching Special Education, ESOL and General Education in third and first grade. This will be Miss Hansen's first year as a kindergarten teacher. Prior to coming to Eagle View, she taught third grade for three years at Hybla Valley Elementary school in Alexandria, Virginia (FCPS). Miss Hansen graduated from Elon University with her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and obtained her masters degree in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Miss Hansen enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog (Philip).
Mrs. McAuliffe has been a kindergarten assistant for 5 years. In addition she has been teaching kindergartners German for the past 16 years. She was born and raised in Germany and moved to the US in 1978. She graduated from George Mason with a teaching degree for German. She has 3 daughters Alex, Megan and Lauren and 2 cats Abbey and Charlie. She enjoys gardening, cooking and travelling. She makes it her goal to help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the classroom where children feel happy and safe.
Ms. Jackson graduated from George Mason University with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. This is her 3rd year teaching kindergarten at Eagle View Elementary. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Hand-Bourgin joined Eagle View in 2007 as a Kindergarten IA. She has worked for FCPS for 20 years. In addition to classroom instruction, she has taught summer school art classes. Mrs. Hand-Bourgin attended Parsons School of Design in NYC. She worked for the Smithsonian Institution In Washington, D.C. for over 6 years, owned her own Free-Lance art business for many years and taught weekend art classes at local Community Centers. Mrs.Hand-Bourgin has one grown son who she is very proud of, along with a rescue dog and a parrot (that says 30+ words). She likes to go to museums, paint and read mysteries.
